Surf-Skiing
A mix between kayaking and surfing. Llandysul Paddlers and Morfa Bay Adventure use sit on kayaks to play in the surf at the local beach. You will learn balance techniques (very useful when paddling over broken waves), how to catch and surf waves effectively. A great activity for beginners and the more experienced.

Paddle Boarding
Paddleboarding began in the early 20th century. Tom Blake is the obvious link between the ancient Hawaiian waterman and the 20th century Anglo waterman. Most paddleboarders feel that they are part of a waterman tradition that spans back to the early 20th century, and that they are carrying on a part of the waveriding culture that nearly vanished altogether in the early ’60s, once the so-called "Gidget-era" surfers became less interested in being complete watermen, and more focused on "performance" surfing. Stand up paddle boarding has seen a huge increase in popularity over the last few years.

Windsurfing & Kite Surfing
Carmarthenshire has plenty of wind energy, so why not harness all that free power and use it to go windsurfing? Former European wave sailing champion Tristan Boxford developed his talents in South West Wales and reckons that you can find that sailing in the region will suit beginners, intermediates and "even those pushing the limits of windsurfing".

Spots such as Pendine will have plenty of sailors scudding across the ocean on a windy day. New wider and more stable boards, designed specifically for windsurfing beginners, make the whole process a lot easier. Within an hour or two you should be able to sail along in a gentle breeze. By the end of a weekend, you'll find the learning curve has accelerated dramatically and you'll be ready to book your next weekend windsurfing in Carmarthenshire.

There are several windsurfing schools around the Carmarthenshire coastline where qualified instructors will kit you out with a board, buoyancy aid and wetsuit, provide some land-based lessons about the gear and how to use it, and then take you into shallow water to learn the basics. Carmarthenshire has two long beaches which are suitable for all types of wind assisted activities. Pendine beach is the most popular destination with Windsurfers and Kitesurfers. Cefn Sidan is also another good location. The beach at North Dock Llanelli is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best kite surfing areas in Wales. With only a few feet of water and good winds, you can often see 20 or 30 kitesurfers showing their skills with jumps and high speed surfing along the bay. The tides are the deciding factor, with suitable water available a few hours each side of high tide.

River Swimming

River Swimming
One for water babies... Float, bob and swim your way down the River Teifi in Carmarthenshire, rushing through white water and meandering down more gentle stretches. The sessions last two hours and will take you three miles downstream from Llandysul to Pentrecwrt, a fantastic activity for groups and definitely a tall story maker. Sessions costs £20 per person and includes hire of a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet.

Coasteering
For the uninitiated Coasteering involves squeezing into a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and old trainers, then working your way around the coast at sea level - simple enough if you're on a beach, but a different story if you're beneath craggy sea cliffs - and you will be. If you're looking to get a taste of Wales' newest extreme sport, it's all here. Coasteering is an awesome activity combining swimming, climbing, jumping - and laughing - all the way around the coast.

Gorge Walking

Gorge Walking
Gorge Walking is scrambling up or down a river or stream. Now this might seem quite tame but it is the type of river that makes the difference. As the name might suggest, all the rivers we operate in, run through steep gorges which produces various natural challenges for your team to overcome. These challenges can range from abseiling down 30 foot waterfalls, climbing up 15 to 20 foot waterfalls, jumping 15 foot into plunge pools and many other fun and thrilling activities along the way.
